5-Year Limited Warranty – DMG Concrete Design & Finish

At DMG Concrete Design & Finish, we take pride in delivering high-quality concrete solutions that stand the test of time. To demonstrate our commitment to durability and customer satisfaction, we provide a 5-year Limited Warranty to the original customer (“Customer”) for the contracted work (“Work”). This warranty is subject to the terms, limitations, and conditions outlined below.

Warranty Coverage

This warranty applies to both flat and vertical concrete surfaces. If within five (5) years from the completion date, major surface defects such as scaling, spalling (from below the colour hardener), or aggregate pop-outs occur, DMG Concrete Design & Finish will, at its sole discretion, repair, replace, or refinish the affected areas. Additionally, if there is any loss of bond in vertical stamping (e.g., steps, retaining walls, etc.), we will address the issue accordingly.

Coverage Limitations

• Driveways:

  • Seamless stamped concrete driveways (e.g., rock skins, textured patterns) are covered by the 5-year warranty.

  • Driveways with modular patterns (e.g., Yorkstone, brick) are covered for 1 year.

  • Acid-etched and exposed aggregate driveways are covered for 5 years.

• Patios, Walkways, and Other Concrete Surfaces:

  • All stamped or decorative concrete installations other than driveways are covered by a 5-year warranty.

• Hardscaping Elements (e.g., Natural Stone, Interlocking Pavers, Porcelain Tile):

  • These installations are covered by a 1-year limited warranty.

• This warranty is void if full payment has not been received for the contracted work, including any approved change orders and invoices.

• In the event of a warranty claim, any repairs or replacements will be covered only for the remaining duration of the original warranty period. Due to natural weathering, repaired or replaced areas may have variations in colour, texture, or finish.

Exclusions & Limitations

This warranty does not cover the following:

• Cracking of any kind (hairline cracks, structural cracks, or shrinkage cracks) due to ground movement, soil settlement, freeze-thaw cycles, overload, or other natural conditions.

• Damage caused by external factors, including:

  • Frost heave

  • Structural settlement

  • Erosion or improper drainage

  • Fire, vandalism, or accidental damage

  • Use of harmful chemicals (e.g., certain de-icers, corrosive cleaning agents)

  • Acts of nature (floods, earthquakes, extreme weather)

  • Vehicle or heavy machinery impact

• Aesthetic imperfections such as minor chips, discoloration, or efflorescence (white mineral deposits).

• Maintenance requirements, including the need for resealing due to wear and tear. All decorative concrete surfaces must be resealed within 1-3 years of installation to maintain warranty coverage. The first reseal must be performed by DMG Concrete Design & Finish; failure to do so will void this warranty. After the first reseal, maintenance can be performed by the customer or another provider every 3-5 years.

• Any repairs or modifications performed by the customer or a third party during the warranty period will void this warranty.

Maintenance Recommendations

To extend the life and appearance of your concrete, we recommend:

• Avoiding de-icing salts during the first two winters after installation.

• Using proper drainage solutions to prevent standing water.

• Scheduling routine resealing every 3-5 years to protect against wear and exposure.

Non-Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer at the original installation site.
